The class has enjoyed taking action in the school garden, watering the plants and investigating what is growing out there. They have found seed pods, flowers and even fruit growing. The first graders even ate the first fruit grown on the HKA papaya tree! Big thanks to Mary Macleod, Jacob's energetic mommy for coming in for share a snack. The students in 1LJY enjoyed decorating gingerbread men with as much brightly colored frosting as was physically possible! One teacher in particular ( no names will be named) ate so many cookies he or she wasn't able to eat their lunch!
Miss Carla has continued to visit our class and discuss problem solving methods with the help of her little green friend, Kelso. The students look forward to her visits and enjoy helping her act out situations and they REALLY get into her games! Ask them some of the ways they have learned to solve problems!
