Big thanks to Saloni Hora for surprising Karma as well as the rest of 1LJY as our mystery reader of the week. The class enjoyed listening to Toot and Putter and trying to guess which country the postcards were coming from.
It's been a full week with a visit from Marcy Cook! Marcy came and taught a lesson in 1LJY which involved mental math, working with place value and ordering numbers. The students paid close attention and really enjoyed her visit. We have been focusing on graphing this week and the students have created Single Venn Diagrams, Bar Graphs and Tally Graphs. We will continue with our graphing unit for the next few weeks. The students are really enjoying making the graphs because the information in them is all about them!
It was great seeing so many parents last night. As you could tell, we have a lot planned for this year! Thanks to everyone who signed up for Mystery Reader/Share a Snack slots. Our schedule is now full until February!
The Mandarin teachers would like you to visit their Weebly to learn about what the students are currently working on. here
