We were very lucky to have Lucas' mom come in to share traditional Japanese storytelling, or Kamishibai. Kamishibai storytelling has been around for centuries and was popular during the global depression in the 1920's. A storyteller would arrive via bicycle to a village and gather children around to tell a story via a small theatre and beautifully illustrated cards. Our class was very lucky to have our own Kamishibai storyteller arrive (most likely not by bicycle) and share the Japanese folk legend of Momotaro, The Peach Boy. Arigatou gozaimasu to Lucas' mom!
