The Christmas is in the air! The holidays are coming! The New Year is around the corner! What a wonderful spirit for seasonal celebrations! And just for the occasion our Share A Snack today was all about winter. Blayden's mom Holly brought tons and tons of marshmallows, frosting, toothpicks and colorful decorations to make snowmen!!! The kids were delighted! On top of that they shared with us some very yummy home-made cookies made with Blayden's and his sister Skyler's help. Thank you very much. Merry Christmas!!!
Today our class was invited to watch the circus performance prepared by Grade 5s. Grade 5s, including our buddies, worked on circus skills during their PE lessons and prepared these performance routines for the final show. With the elements of gymnastics, juggling, and all kinds of tricks - the audience was captivated and clapped non-stop. For 1ai it was a very interesting event to watch, cheer for their buddies, and learn what to expect in a few years from now.
Hour of Code is a worldwide event taking place the week of Dec 7-13. Last year over 100 million students participated in over 180 countries. The aim of the Hour of Code is to introduce kids in Kindergarten thru grade 12 to the world of coding (programming).
Hour of Code is being organize by Code.org. They have prepared a number of activities and resources for teachers and students to use. If a student enjoys the Hour in school and want to continue further with coding on their own there are plenty of resources to help guide kids and parents for further activities.
